Martin Zaefferer is doing a cooperative PhD at TH Köln and TU Dortmund. He studied electrical engineering with a focus on automation at TH Köln and graduated in 2010. He received his master’s degree in Engineering (TH Köln, Automation & IT) in 2012. Since then he was involved in several research projects at the research center CIplus (TH Köln), dealing with methods from the fields of computational intelligence and data mining as well as their application in industry. Evolutionary computation and surrogate-model-based optimization are in the center of his interests, with a focus on combinatorial optimization problems.
